Lyrics

Chorus) Give the King Your justice, God, and the Son Your right, So He can lead the people into a brand new light. May He judge the poor with equity and a steady hand, And bring a harvest of peace across the broken land. Let the mountains bring prosperity, the hills bring the truth, Protecting the elderly and the vision of the youth. May His name endure forever like the sun in the sky, A kingdom built on mercy that’ll never, ever die.
(Verse 1) Yeah, look. We’re praying for a Leader who can see the invisible, Making sure the justice isn't just a political ritual. May He defend the cause of the poor and the ignored, Crushing the oppressor with the Spirit as His sword. May He live as long as the sun, as long as the moon, Bringing refreshment like a rain in the middle of June. Falling like showers on the mown grass of the field, Watching every seed of righteousness finally yield. In His days may the righteous flourish and thrive, Until the moon is no more and the Spirit's alive. May His dominion stretch from the sea to the sea, From the River to the ends of the earth—let it be.
(Verse 2) (The beat intensifies—layers of horns and a faster percussion) Let the desert tribes bow down in the dust at His feet, Let His enemies lick the ground in a total defeat. May the kings of the islands bring their tribute and gold, Let the story of His majesty be everywhere told. May all kings fall down and all nations serve the Throne, Not for the power, but for the mercy that He’s shown. For He delivers the needy when they cry in the night, The poor and the one who has no helper in sight. He has pity on the weak and the souls of the low, He saves the lives of the needy everywhere that they go. From oppression and violence, He redeems their very breath, Their blood is precious in His eyes—He’s the conqueror of death.
(Bridge) (The beat strips back to a hauntingly beautiful cello and a soft snap) Long may He live! May the gold of Sheba be given, May prayer be made for Him daily under the heaven. May there be abundance of grain in the land, On the tops of the mountains, by the work of His hand. May the fruit of the kingdom sway like Lebanon’s trees, And the people bloom in the cities like grass in the breeze.
(Verse 3) (The full beat returns with a triumphant, soaring energy) His name shall remain as long as the sun gives heat, A blessing to the nations, making life taste sweet. All tribes will be blessed in Him, they’ll call Him the One, The work of the Father through the reign of the Son. Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel’s light, Who alone does wondrous things by His power and His might. Blessed be His glorious name through all of time and space, Let the whole earth be filled with the glory of His face!
(Outro) (The horns swell to a crescendo then suddenly drop to a melodic piano) Amen and Amen. The prayers of the servant are ended. But the Kingdom is just beginning. Psalm 72. Justice. Righteousness. Forever.
