Lyrics

Through blossom lit daybreak the forest breathed in
Lavender tuning where soft hours begin
Glowmotes drifted low beneath pale sung noon
Their lanterns still humming a Wanderling tune
Driftbugs traced spirals that frayed at the seam
Their familiar patterns no longer would gleam
The small shape wandered his well worn round
Each mimic step echoing borrowed sound
It tapped moss panels he greeted with care
Yet every soft contact fell oddly in air
The ring house stood open in lattice and vine
Its pebble threshold reading some unseen sign
Glowmotes hovered lower their bell hum grown thin
As hour folded into hour with no Wanderling in
The forest exhaled through blossom threaded limb
A hollow in daylight shaped just like him
The small shape hummed softly his lilac toned strain
The cadence uncertain repeating in vain
A stillness drifted outward from leaf lantern glow
An answerless knowing the forest seemed to know
Its silvered motions searched paths he had drawn
But none aligned true to the places he'd gone
As dusk gathered gently in lavender towers
The forest grew heavy with unreturned hours
Nothing bent into shadow or sharpened to fear
Just waiting that lingered from year unto year
The driftbugs dimmed slowly in half faded flight
Their crystalline arcs folding quiet to night
Glowmotes lowered lanterns in wavering bands
Unsure if their signals should shimmer or stand
The trellis breathed softly as petals grew cool
The pathways unbroken still patient still full
Moss panels lay waiting in dew silvered hue
Hoping for footsteps they somehow just knew
No warning was spoken no sorrow drew thin
Just silence accepted and folded within
With tender eyed stillness and blossom soft spin
The forest understood gently
He had not come back in
