ሸክሜን እና ጭንቀቴን

በፊትህ ይዤ እቀርባለሁ

ያለፈው ይበቃኛል

መለወጥን እሻለሁ

ጌታ ሆይ የልመናዬን ቃል ስማ

ፀሎቴንም መልስልኝ እጅህን ዘርግተህ ታደገኝ

በእራሴ ብዙ ደክሜያለሁ ስለፋ

የማላውቀውን በተስፋ ዕድሜዬን ሙሉ ስገፋ

የአንተን የልብህን ሃሳብ እየፈጸምኩኝ መኖር እሻለሁ

ከዚህች ዓለም ከንቱ ነገር ላይ ዓይኔንም አነሳዋለሁ

ዋጋ አለውና የከበረ እርሱን ለመያዝ እዘረጋለሁ

ከእንግዲህ በቀረኝ እድሜ ክብርህን ማየት እሻለሁ

ባለማስተዋል የሰበሰብኩት

ከንቱ ብቻ ነው ለካስ ያከማቸሁት

ጥፋቴን ሁሉ ዞር ብዬ ሳየው

እራሴን ስወቅስ ደግሞ እገኛለሁ

ደግሞ እንደገና ነግቶልኝ ስሮጥ

አንድ ዓይነት ሕይወት የማይለወጥ

ይህ ከንቱ ኑሮ ብዙ ደከመኝ

አሁን ግን በቃኝ እባክህ ለውጠኝ

ጌታ ሆይ የልመናዬን ቃል ስማ

ፀሎቴንም መልስልኝ እጅህን ዘርግተህ ታደገኝ

በእራሴ ብዙ ደክሜያለሁ ስለፋ

የማላውቀውን በተስፋ ዕድሜዬን ሙሉ ስገፋ

My burden and my sorrow,

I bring them now before Your face.

Enough of what has passed me by;

I long to live transformed .

O Lord, hear now the cry I raise,

Answer my prayer, stretch out Your hand and lift me.

By my own strength, I’ve toiled until I’m spent, In hopeful trust,

I offer all my days.

I want to live fulfilling Your heart's desire,

To lift my eyes from all this world's vain care.

It holds true worth, a treasure to acquire;

I reach for it, for what remains of life, I long to see Your glory there.

All that I gathered in my foolishness,

Was vanity, stored up for self alone.

Turning to see the ruin of my ways,

I condemn myself Again at dawn I run, yet still unchanged I stay,

This empty striving left me worn and weak,

I’ve had enough; I beg You, Lord, remake me.

O Lord, hear now the cry I raise,
