Sylvia, I didn't know her, but for the story she told of figs

Dying on the ground

They said "listen to your gut for yearning" but how should I, with stomach turning, swim the tide in any way but circles

And don't you see my weary eyes? I can't find what find I'm running from

And oh you say I shouldn't try

Let it happen, give it time

Don't be sad kid, give it time

Oh no no no

Every year I'm so much older, every year more on my shoulder now

Begging to slow down

And every year I feel more anger, all the wicked face-exchangers bring the tide to all our lonely windows

And don't you feel any remorse? Don't you see what I'm yelling for?

Cause oh you say I shouldn't try

Let it happen, give it time

Don't be sad kid, give it time

Oh no no no

You don't get it do you?

Don't you see what they're doing while our eyes are closed?

Oh you say I shouldn't try

Let it happen, give it time

Don't be sad kid, give it time

Oh no no no no
