Lyrics

Boundary
While walking along the beach with a friend
A woman has an out of body experience
She sees herself like a penny at the bottom of a glass of water
Unable to reach herself, she is now her reflection
She watches herself respond in conversation
A move as she has seen many times in mirrors
And begins to wonder if she is dying
If another spirit has consumed her
She looks for other ascending spirits and sees none
Perhaps, she thinks
Each person has multiple souls
Which reside above them like invisible balloons
Sharing one collective memory
And consciousness
Emotion
She sees the scales of life and death
Are in perfect equilibrium above her
As they are always constants of continuous balance
Life and death of each word spoken, each moment, each fraction
Finally, she shuts her eyes
Squeezing them tight, and so empties her mind
And as she opens them slowly, she stops
Notices the stained glass setting sky breaking
Like a crystallizing culture before her
Feels the sand creep between her toes
Breathes deeply
Then returns to the conversation
