Pull back the lid of a can of corn, and wonder how long since they were stored away preserved from thought, cheated from light....think the same as I look around.

I'm afraid to leave my comfort zone, where we think we're free to call our own

It looks down on me and hides away potential dreams, it tortures me

Sunlight is a mystery, I see it out of my cage's seat

Much like a pet, we can see what's free, but chances are our dreams will never come around

Under a roof is where I earn the dollars for gas and the oil to burn, for temporary comforts we think we need - roofs overhead with pretty tapestries

Locked away deep inside I don't think that I'll survive

I will be what I despise

I'm sorry to see what I've become

But it's not over until I say so!

My resolution to staying the same is wire up my brain to control everything

It's a little extreme, but I think you'll agree, you'll listen to me when I come around

I'll control all within my reach

I'll control whoever is under my feet

I'll snatch you up and change you around, wind you up for me to do my demands.
