There’s a land that once was free, a land that speaks of God’s beauty

If you can only see

 Shadows fell, darkness called, demons came to take it all And suddenly I felt so small

 Fields of green turned to red, rivers flowed with the blood of the dead

So many prayers left unsaid

I shook hands with the devil, I stood and listened to his lies

Thought I saw the angels falling and the son had covered up his eyes

Foreign kings in foreign lands, they took the power out of my hands

To withdraw was their command

 I did shout and I did pray, I told my men that we would stay

While the world looked away

I went to see the devil's own to talk of peace and hope for all

But his smile just froze my soul

Now if Jesus could have his say he'd make those kings kneel down and pray
