Lyrics

I can't believe where I have found myself
Violent thoughts that I don't recognize
These looming faceless figures, towering and indistinct
Are to pass judgment on my crime?
And who defines the crime?
It's not as if accusal is consistent with the values maligned
By those who would claim to be the rational and righteous
Or could it be?
I stand to face decisive judgment, composed by tyrants, baked in blood
So sounds the silver tongue, striking at repentant nerves
It's like the sky is caving in on me
I realize what I have done
But I don't understand what I can do to make it right
Is there a way that I can cover up?
Pretend like this never happened?
Or will it follow me for the rest of my life?
Will I move on and make things right?
I can't believe where I have found my— how can this happen again?
How can I look the other way as I abide to subordinate reality?
I stand indifferent to the slow decay, the harsh passage of my time
Who has autonomy?
Not below these watchful eyes
It's like the sky is caving in on me
I realize what I have done
But I don't understand what I can do to make it right
Is there a way that I can cover up?
Pretend like this never happened?
Or will it follow me for the rest of my life?
Will I move on and make things right?
Voice timid, head bowed, words meandering and meaningless. The desperation is the point; theater for the masses, yearning for the chance to witness the downfall of an adversary. The authority rises as the room prepares for those familiar words, hanging perpetually heavy, entering their lungs. A violation. So it goes:
It is with sincere sympathy that we arrive at our inevitable conclusion. Sympathy, but not reg-
-self evident that true stability lies not with the patient-
-weigh the fleeting whims of an irrational minority against an inf-
-taken at the expense of the friends, family, and future-
-wondering what drives one to such heinous-
-sabotage of this paradise-
-and yet, we lead with sympathy, and a steady hand.
It's like the sky is caving in on me
I realize what I have done
But I don't understand what I can do to make it right
Is there a way that I can cover up?
Pretend like this never happened?
Or will it follow me for the rest of my life?
Will I move on and make things right?
