He had a gun and they say he was ready to attack

Live on our screens, the fractures spread,  every comment sparks a fight

Out in the streets, masked silhouettes like assailants in the night

Am I a part of this machinery?

or on the wrong side of the story?

Scroll on my phone, the lies pile up. Skin and shade

They feel the pull, the heat, the urge to join the tide. Truth decayed

Am I fading into this horror story

When my silence shows a truth I fear to see

And find the same cracks that  I've been calling out
