Watching shows, on the phone, had me on your schedule

Thinking back on the memories, they so special

You on the porch with the flyswatter

Always asked if I was hungry, supper afternoons

Root beer in the fridge, saved just for me

Dear Gran, hate to mention, felt dementia put a strain on us

Hard to visit, I was scared you'd forget about me

How could I ever be so selfish after all we done?

Prayed that when you'd see my face, you remember fun

So many times was scared to ask if you remembered them

And the way you loved Granddad, all of us felt that

Real love, now y'all above

Know y'all spendin' much time just catchin' up

Watch over us, cover mama with a hug

Let her know it's okay when her days are rough
