Lyrics

Will I live and press on?
Or will I learn from the back of a car?
But I'm still scared of someday
Roots from a sprout is how life begins
Feeling somebody watching me
Whatever the outcome, the compression just peaked
Motherfuckers in the room looking back, slaving their neck
Now tell me who you are, kill the v-neck or a bling preset
One minute, don't question if they wear a mask
The next, a simple test can get them lying in the test
Relationships tiring, money is drying
My friendships are dying, can the Lord still find me?
Time is passing way too fast, I cannot comprehend
The stress keeps on getting big, too big to now amend
Feels like I'm not getting the message, even trying to resend
And my walk with Christ is awkward, am I trying to attend?
This shit hard to deal with and this is no expense
Imagine how I'll be feeling when I'm older on the fence
The thought is tense, even playing defense
The reality commence, no more thinking no sense
There's no telling if this over quick
Two years ago, I thought it'll be over quick
But I guess not, still questioning my life
Like what is a friend? Someone who hides or tries?
Can't figure out who's a friend or foe
Someone riding my dick or someone who knows
What's best for me instead of passing a cup of Hennessy
Someone pressing me to make me bad, I guess I'll have to wait and see
Will I live and press on?
Or will I learn from the back of a car?
Still got time to explore
Time is passing and I don't wanna let go
Maybe months I can reflect on
The troubles in the past and nights with the light on
But still scared of someday
Roots from a sprout is how life begins
Yeah, stop overthinking, give your life to God
Stop constantly thinking you ain't doing enough, uh
December 24th, 2019
A time I remember being a child and happy
Just got a brand new iPad from under the tree
I thought things would stay the way they should be
A couple months passed and COVID hit
Like some other people, I was growing up a bit
But it wasn't enough since when middle school hit
I felt like I wasn't maturing the way I should've did
Then high school came and my grandma passed away
I felt like I lost a part of me that I didn't know existed
I truly never recovered since then
But promise gon' make it no matter what I did, uh
Will I live and press on?
Or will I learn from the back of a car?
Still got time to explore
Time is passing and I don't wanna let go
Maybe months I can reflect on
The troubles in the past and nights with the light on
But still scared of someday
Roots from a sprout is how life begins
Oh, roots from a sprout is how life begins
Roots from a sprout is how life begins
