Grief is a heavy stone

a rust-stuck train, a broken bone

I lean upon my hurt when I'm alone

Big thunder on the plains

I grieve him how I loved him too–

With some reserve, like an aching truth

He was a pain in my pride sometimes, I don't want to lie, but sam was a sharp diamond

but he’s not better off gone, not better off gone

Was feeling down today and thought to call before I realized you are dead

Samuel if I could find you I would get inside your head

say, “Life is change but dirt is not a better set of clothes

And God made no replacements for a friend

it took me a long time to cry

when i was young i learned just how to hide my feelings, push them down

and keep going on

but today I wrote my friend a letter

and sobbed like a little child

and i went home to tell the mothman that I loved him

and to please never leave
