When darkness wraps itself in roses and claims to know the way

When empty words replace the truth and lead the lost astray

When lifeless forms still fill the pews, but never bow the knee

We'll cling to every word of God

For Christ alone makes free

The world now calls what's good as evil

Evil now called right

Yet truth has never changed its course

It still shines through the night

Though every voice turns Christ away and calls us to give in

Will build our lives upon the rock that stands through thick and thin

Though winds may rise and oceans roar

His faithful word stands ever more

We will stand unbendable upon the everlasting rock

Holding fast the word of God

While all the world may mock

Though kingdoms crumble, cultures fade

And many choose the broader way

Our hope is built on Christ alone

The same forever and today we'll never trade the truth for ease

Though all the world may fall

We'll stand in Christ until he comes

Our Lord, our life, our own

The counterfeit may wear his name and speak with polished grace

Yet underneath the empty words, there's nothing in its place

Faith without the power of God may look completely whole, but living truth transforms the heart and makes alive the soul

The shepherd's voice still cuts the noise that echoes through the land

Will test each spirit by his word and follow his command

The narrow road is seldom filled yet safely leads us home

Though many wander from the truth will never choose to roam

Though lies increase and fears may grow

His living truth is all we know

We will stand unbendable upon the everlasting rock

Holding fast the word of God

While all the world may mock, though kingdoms crumble

Cultures fade, and many choose the broader way

Our hope is built on Christ alone

The same forever and today we'll never trade the truth for ease

Though all the world may fall, we'll stand in Christ until he comes

Our Lord, our life, our own

When every battle presses hard, when every trial tests the soul

The spirit strengthens every saint whose eyes on Christ remain the goal

Though persecution comes our way, though hatred rises for his name

The one who carried saints before is still forever more the same

We will stand unbendable until the trumpet fills the sky

Watching for our blessed savior with redemption drawing nigh

Though darkness gathers all around, and many fall away

Our eyes are fixed on Christ alone until that glorious day

We'll never trade the truth for ease

Though all the world may fall, we'll stand in Christ until he comes

Our Lord, our life, our all
