Lyrics

Yeah...
They told me sit down
They told me listen
They told me follow the line
But nobody asked the kid
what he saw in his mind
Raw Proof
Little kid with a head full of galaxies
Drawing whole worlds while they teaching him strategies
Bell rings — everybody move, don't ask why
Raise your hand, memorize, keep your eyes dry
Wrong answer, red mark, "You should've known"
So he stops raising questions, starts watching the clock
They got a number for your mind, a grade for your brain
Put a box around a dream, then they call it a name
"Sit straight. Stay quiet. Don't make a scene"
But the wildest minds ain't always neat and clean
You can't measure imagination with a test on a page
Can't put a price on a thought before it reaches its age
They wanna put a box around your mind
Tell you what to think, tell you what's right
But I won't let 'em kill that fire inside
I won't let 'em turn a dream into a nine-to-five
Let the kids ask why, let 'em challenge the rules
Let 'em build something new, don't program the fools
You don't educate a mind by locking every door
You give 'em wings — let 'em find what they're looking for
Every question ain't supposed to have one answer
Every kid ain't supposed to walk the same path
One wants rockets, one wants music, one wants art
One sees a future nobody else can see from the start
But the system loves numbers, loves easy control
Put a score on a paper, call it measuring a soul
Memorize this, memorize that, don't forget the date
Then wonder why the classroom killed the creative flame
I'm not saying knowledge ain't power — that's the truth
I'm saying knowledge should unlock the mind of the youth
Teach history, science, math — give 'em the tools
But don't teach 'em that thinking different makes 'em fools
A child says, "What if?" — that's where progress begins
Every breakthrough in history started with a kid
So don't crush that question just because it's new
The next great idea might be sitting right in front of you
They wanna put a box around your mind
Tell you what to think, tell you what's right
But I won't let 'em kill that fire inside
I won't let 'em turn a dream into a nine-to-five
Let the kids ask why, let 'em challenge the rules
Let 'em build something new, don't program the fools
You don't educate a mind by locking every door
You give 'em wings — let 'em find what they're looking for
I want a classroom where the questions get loud
Where a different idea can stand out from the crowd
Where failure ain't shame, it's another damn step
Where a kid can say "I don't know" and still earn respect
Don't tell me every genius fits inside one test
Don't tell me one number tells you who's the best
Some minds move fast, some minds move deep
Some create in silence while the whole room sleeps
Education should be fuel, not a cage on the brain
Should teach you how to think when the answers ain't plain
Give a kid a book, then tell him, "Go beyond"
Give him knowledge in his hands and imagination to respond
Because the world ain't changed by people doing what they're told
It's changed by crazy ideas that refused to grow old
So if the kid sees a future that you can't see yet
Don't shut him down — that's the future you haven't met
They wanna put a box around your mind
Tell you what to think, tell you what's right
But you can't kill imagination if it's burning inside
You can't build the future teaching everybody to hide
Let the kids ask why!
Let 'em dream big!
Let 'em question everything!
Let 'em build it!
Knowledge is power —
But imagination is the spark
You don't kill a future
Just because you don't understand the start
Don't kill the question
Don't kill the dream
Don't kill the voice
that says, "What could this be?"
Let 'em think
Let 'em create
Let 'em imagine
That's how you build tomorrow
