All Over the World

Standing at ground zero the weight's too much to bear You can feel it in your body, you can taste it in the air But this our greatest loss can't even be compared To the lives lost each and everyday to nothing but apathy We cringe at just the thought of one lost innocent These our precious moms and dads, Sons and daughters of American decent But what of all the bloodshed for oil and power and greed What of all the lives laid down by nothing but apathy All over the world All over the world All over the world All over the world Standing at ground zero with eyes closed, it's hard to take a peek It's hurts to hear forgiving words about turning the other cheek Vengence is may sayeth man, and we will see justice done. We will make those killers pay and keep evil on the run Somewhere in a desert a child lies dying in her mothers embrace Maybe from cold or from a gunshot wound, Maybe with starvation on her face We who fight for our addictions, We who would gladly die for our ease We live without compassion and we spread just like a disease All over the world. When will we learn that to harm one kills us all When will we realize the self righteous always fall When will we take a chance.
