Ah, skin You ever thought about skin? The whole concept of humanity is smoky It's kinda shaky No one seem to know which bandwagon to hop on And the politics and hypocrites Well, they're all sympathetic with bandwagon wheels Some wheels with guts and do right principles stand up until they're shot down Lord, we had some good 'uns shot down lately There are some wheels barely tied together With guns, fools with guns ready to kill and be killed People sure are proud of their skin It's just skin Black and white skin It's dark in the east, and it's dark in the west The north and the south have had one contest Umm, just the thought of a hassle gets under my skin Still, life evolves And the pity that is needed resolves To unconcern Hungry kids are walkin' the streets with empty stomachs Where did all of our children go? And 'em fat scarlet mothers smell sweet with desertion Books are being written about men About black and white Up and down men But mostly about you and me, man We're all pigs Black pigs, white pigs Just can't groove in the same mudhole it seems like And the cause of it all is skin One shone human skin Think about it, it's just skin
