Şarkı sözleri

"First phase that takes place is in your mind.
You have to change your mind before you change the way you live and the way you move."
What started as a scroll turned into a deep dive
Now the stories on his feed just don't seem right
Dust everywhere rubble knee high
Protest happening tomorrow it's a weeknight
Steve wants to go marching for a ceasefire
But his boss is telling him he needs to keep quiet
"Do you want to earn his wages or a peace prize?
Do you want to be an activist or be fired?"

Blood money just bought him his breakfast
Cos the company has dodgy investments
He's an accountant heading up a hedge fund
But he's not sure this is something he can get past
In his new beliefs he remains steadfast
Keeps trying to diversify investments
"Nothing keep the money rolling in like death does"
So steve stepped down and let someone else to step up
Breath in my mother
In out in out
Breath in my mother
In out in out
Little Penny was seven when she went veggie
She changed her diet but her body wasn't ready
Poor little Penny couldn't keep her weight steady
"I couldn't fit enough veggies in my belly"
All of a sudden she cut out dairy
Teeth fell out out and her arms got hairy
Ate lot of bread but her diet never varied
Weight dropped so low it became scary
Penny saw so many horrors on the screen
She became a eco activist in her teens
She skipped school so she could yell "go green"
Went on hunger strike trying to keep the earth clean
That's when Penny was rushed to A&E
Dad couldn't remember the last time he saw her eat
"She looks so small and she's struggling to breath"
Who would have believed Penny's father was Steve
Breath in my mother
In out in out
Breath in my mother
In out in out
Penny's mother grew up in the 80s
When you made money until you make babies
What a waste of all the years she spent training
She resented penny for it daily
Penny knew this wasn't fair so she pushed back
Wanted mums sacrifice to have an impact
Neither of her parents understood that
History repeats itself the more we look back
Penny's Nan was a link in a chain
14 miles round a nuclear base
greenham women got their name from the place
They occupied for 2 entire decades
As penny lies there in her hospital bed
Her mum can't get her own mother out her head
She remembers years ago something she said
"When we can't change the world it will change us instead"
Breath in my mother
In out in out
Breath in my mother
In out in out
Steve gifted penny a guitar
Pennys stitches faded into scars
She could turn blank pages into art
But the pain still invaded every vain in her heart
Every day was getting harder as the weeks pass by
Penny turned 18 in the blink of an eye
Therapist said "it's time to say goodbye"
Penny's an adult now has to wait in line
She's out with her friends waiting to buy drinks
The basslines boom, their glasses clink
She just wanna dance now she don't wanna think
"Why worry bout your health if all we're going extinct?"
Penny still believes she be better off dead
She remembers something a youth worker said
"When you can't right the world write about it instead"
So penny put down the blade and she picked up a pen
"So when we said that the revolution will not be televised We were saying that the thing that's going to change people is something that no one will ever be able to capture on film. It'll just be something that you can see and all of a sudden you realise I'm on the wrong page or I'm on the right page but I'm on the wrong note."
