First time I laid eyes on you

You had jean jacket, baseball cap and nothing to lose

My heart tried to beat out of my chest

I’ve known men who’ve died from less

That was Raleigh back in 2003

Two years later in Savannah I’m on one knee

Downtown in the middle of Wright Square

We said forever right then and there

The Army seemed to take us from here to there

Bragg, Colorado, Fairbanks everywhere

Leaving is difficult being away is hard

But you were relentless loving me from afar

I don’t know how you do what you do

I was away while you were in law School

Still working hard to raise our 4 kids

If you’ve got a weakness I ain’t seen it yet
