Met her at a dance on a Friday night

I told her take my hand, it'll be all right

When I took it I was swept away

and I thought about my Saturday

I asked her on a date to the drive in show

My heart skipped a beat when she said let's go

I went to bed that night and prayed anticipating Saturday

The next day I was itchin' to go

I put on my best cologne and my finest clothes

She wore a skirt with her hair in a bow

And our favorite song was playing on the radio

Walked her to the door where we shared a kiss

Sweet as honey and pure as bliss

Like a rocket, I was blown away

I said I'd see her next Saturday

I'm so glad that I took a chance

When I saw that little girl at the Friday dance

I lost count of the Saturdays

that have passed us by now that she's here to stay

Walked her down the aisle where we shared a vow

Had our second first dance and we took a bow
