Gone

So far from home and feeling lonely,

So desperate for a faithful friend,

So weighted down with bad decisions, 

Then I heard a still small voice,

That was breaking through the noise

He asked me if I wanted freedom,

He told me of His love and grace,

He said that I could taste forgiveness,

And when I fell down on my knees,

In the hour I first believed

Gone - was the guilt and shame,

Gone - He took all the blame,

Gone - all my past regrets,

Buried in the sea of forgetfulness,

They’re gone - all the chains of sin

Gone - all the fear within

Gone - Heaven’s mine to claim

And when I hear the Savior call my name, 

I’m gone

Hard to believe He can’t remember,

The things I’d done and all I’d been,

He put this broken heart together,

Only He could take the used,

And make it just like new

I never shall forget the day,

When every burden rolled away
