In the morning

I get up out of bed

Smoke a cigarette

I didn't even know I had

Half-naked

Bandages around my head

It's bleeding

Seeping through the fabric

And defeated

I pour a glass of bourbon

Oh the feeling

The feeling that I had

It's like I'm dreaming

Though I haven't slept since I can't think of when

In the yard there is

An in ground swimming pool

With no water in it

I'm not dumb but I'm a fool for falling in

I wasn't even sure just what was happening

When I hit my head it was an accident

It felt like falling into an oblivion

It felt like being cast into damnation

One moment I was standing on the pavement

And waking in a hospital the next

And it was glorious

I was victorious

We are savages

Carousing with our clothes off

Like javelins

We're throwing tiki torches at our children

If you don't have any children then start making them

Make your children how they make them disciplined
