Don't forget about the simple things

Before you started changin' everything

'Cause way before the reposts and the likes

It was the simple things that made you smile

So listen when I'm telling you

'Cause you ain't got nothing to prove

So close your phone and open up your mind

'Cause it's the simple things that last a while

Used to get lost in each other's eyes

Now I don't know how but you losin' sight

Of all of the things that we could've might

Have been maybe all of it's been a lie

You on the phone, don't see the text

You were at home, don't got reception

You were the one I thought I could trust

And you don't pick up

Baby you are, yeah you are living life off your own reflection

You got connections but you are

Losing your connection with me

Baby you are, yeah you are refreshing for another mention

Those aren't your friends, yeah, you forgot

You forgot about the simple things

I hardly recognize you anymore

They don't make Photoshoppin' for your soul

And you don't gotta hashtag all your goals

'Cause when you unplug you're still all alone

The simplest thing that you can do

Is care about more than just you

So close your phone and open up your mind

'Cause it's the simple things that last a while

Now when I look in your eyes

All I be seein' is money signs

You put a number to everything

Whatever happened to good times, traded real vibes

For fake likes, we were day ones now we cold nights

Always on your phone doin' too much, yeah

And you don't pick up

Baby you are, yeah you are living life off your own reflection

You got connections but you are

Losing your connection with me

Baby you are, yeah you are refreshing for another mention

Those aren't your friends, yeah, you forgot

You forgot about the simple things

Don't forget about the simple things

Before you started changin' everything

Close your phone and open up your mind

'Cause it's the simple things that last a while

Baby you are, yeah you are living life off your own reflection

You got connections but you are

Losing your connection with me

Baby you are, yeah you are refreshing for another mention

Those aren't your friends, yeah, you forgot

You forgot about the simple things

Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
