First Frost

Cars pass

busy streets and parklife I see the white lights

in our eyes

new life

new love new lanterns in the garden isles and nothing passes us by

I see everything through your eye

suddenly forgotten webs appear

we can see the lines that weren’t there

the drops are frozen in mid air

falling

we knew there would be a day

when the cold would settle in our veins

we would draw our last breaths and remain silent

as the days end

slowly waiting for the right time
