For All the World To See

I’m a body on the beach lying in the surf

I’m cold and I’m lifeless like I have no worth

I got into a boat for the chance to sink or swim

I headed out to see if you would let me in

Razor wire and tear gas tears my skin burns my eyes

It’s time for me to leave I kiss my mother goodbye

And the baton blows are raining down on me

Seems I’ve lived my life in turmoil for all the world to see

I’m drowning in the water my life is in your hands

This wasn’t meant to happen I wasn’t in your plans

I’m searching high and searching low for a place to rest my head

My souls tired and weary my body feels like lead

Welcome me to freedom I kneel and kiss dry land
