Somber Aeons

The sky is black now

Dawn can barely crack the night

Oh, morning star, say

Will this darkness win the fight?

Weak and weary

Time is running through my hands

The fire fades out

Twilight holds the frozen lands

Always present

In my chest an ache for warmth

Secluded by the

Dark horizons of the north

Somber aeons

Dark is giving in at last

Help me, Eos

Put this darkness in my past

Eternal slumber

We await the new morn

Gone is soon forgotten

Appear and let us now adorn

Can we bear this twilight?

Dare we face it anymore?

How am I this hollow?

Long for daybreak and a cure

The definition of darkness is not only the absence of light

You cannot see the darkness

Darkness cannot exist with light

Darkness cannot be explained

Darkness only comes when everything else has gone

And true darkness is the conviction that light will never return

Darkness is nothing

Then darkness is everything
