Woke up sweating over the state of affairs

From my mountain isolation

Up three flights of stairs

And I wish it were morning

And I wish this was over

This type of thing used to throw me but now I'm older

So I just stay naked, make a coffee and some toast

Scroll through the news of the hour

Try not to hold it too close

Eventually get myself out the door

Eventually breathe in the cool air

Process the fact that I'm here and that you are there

And the stores are all closed
