There’s this face I see in the water

As cold as the void inside my soul

That I can’t tell apart from my own

 

So I cut it open wide

To see if I can differentiate the one on my neck

and the one that stares through the darkest depths of my mind

And the familiarity gets hold of my breath

 

I felt I've been reborn

But the past will never let go

No choice but to shoulder the cost
