Rusted, I’m nearly swamped

Under, tucked beneath the rocks

Perspective shifts when you’re in the water

Amidst the masses, I felt smaller

Anxiety pulled me from the shore

I’ve been sinking down

I find the more I kick, the more I stagnate

I float away

Too much salt in my mouth

I crumble down to the bottom now

Decomposed by the weight of the sound

That’s inside my bloated head, the dread
