Green Room

I was knocking at the door

Welcome to the world

Breathe filled my lungs

And that’s when life begun

Where is right from wrong

And how do I belong

The story I became there’s just no one left to blame

But the writer with the pen again

I find myself alone

Fighting mirrors upon mirrors in the dark

I think I’m fading from the page

All the words just get erased in the night

But you come back round to see it

And nobody really knows

How the story goes

But I’m pretty sure we wake up in the dark

Begging for the light and scratching at the night

Beating each other down because we can

And then we blame it on our hearts

Which were broken from the start

Oh well, at least we have each other

So this narrator of fame

Or should I say of pain?

Said “don’t be so concerned with that which you don’t know”

So I try to fake a smile but instead I set a fire

And burn all of this nothing to ground

Meet me in the fire

Don’t leave me in the cold

Cover me in snow until I have grown old

I’ll never be the same

We’ll go our separate ways

Spirit are you there

Or have I gone insane?
