The Moon One

In a conversation, I had with the moon

I ask does she think of me, in the way that I still do?

Cause when she is gone, in the brightness of day

I can still see her here when skies are clear

A faint circle of gray

And I still feel you pulling me close, hallelujah

Saved by a beautiful moon, bella luna

I tried to give you space but you seemed worlds away

Into the night air, greets me like an old friend

And we go out drinking

It seems, it seems I’m on the mend

So I stumble outside, for a breath and a break

Just to see you standing there

Like you had never left in the first place

And I know that you’re here all along but this cycle

It’s like you depart seconds after arrival

You wax and you wane and I just wish you would stay the same

And I even would beg to the stars for your presence

But even they’d burn out by the time they get this
