Wait and Run

Hands sweat

Heart is racing

So I broke plans again

In my head with what might go wrong

I'll stay home instead

Walk inside my head in circles

Keep in touch by writing

It just feels more natural

Fighting these ghosts from the past

Drown out my thoughts with fiction, heart slows down at last

Must get out of bed

The more that I'm idle, the more I'm in my head

Anxiety

Why does this happen to me

Why do you get the best of me

Try to remain calm

And count down until I leave

It's not that I don't like it here

It just gets so hard to breathe

All of these eyes on me

The noise is much too loud

I can't talk about it, I fear weakness

And I'm way too proud
