Beautiful Stuff

I tried to fly

but my wings were burnt off by the sun

Icarus died

but I knew if I tried I could still run

now my legs are working harder,

running faster

than I ever did before in my life

I carried on and made it farther

than I ever would have

if I took the sky

sometimes the short cut's

been blocked by a tree trunk

and often it's covered in flames

and if we get lost

the world will not stop because

where there's a will, there's a way

if the world was on fire,

would you just give it up and be done?

there's always a chance, you know

we've lived just for hope since day one

now I am sleeping better,

dreaming bigger

than I ever have before

when my ship was lost at sea,

just I, myself, and me

we still found the shore

yes, it gets tough

but there is love in this dust
