Selfish

I don’t wanna keep this feeling in my body

But I don’t think you’re giving me a choice

You keep saying it’s our chance for freedom

Well freedom never made me lose my voice

You say it won’t always be this way and that you mean it

I say I’m not sure you know what you mean or believe it

You say what can I do to make it up to you to achieve it

I say you could let me go my own way and then we leave it

And then we grieve it

You are who you think you are and I am who I think I am

And we are on our way to doing something that we think we can

But you keep on my excuses and I keep making em too

We keep on going in circles, in circles we’re going and going it’s true

You keep on saying it’s my fault, nobody else’s

That me backing away is making me so very selfish
