Now that there are potholes in place

And it skips the music inside of your car

For what you promised me you'd let go

Practically convinced that you'd fix the road

That drove me to work both ways

But you just never did have the time

To truly give me the time of day

Hoping that I don't come to mind

That you aren't ever thinking of me

That my face is a stranger now, living here inside of your dreams

Hoping that your name collects dust

On the bottom shelf, behind old CDs

Cause now I've been filling up the space

And keeping all the things I don't need

Always had a solution to break

Turn back to punch me in the face

Knuckles red and your eyes ablaze

To claim you're mean is the least to say

The neighbors had to remove your fist

From the hole deep in my skin you had made

The plaster tumbling from my mouth

Now that's just a typical day

Hoping that I don't come to mind

That you aren't ever thinking of me
