I no longer listen to the siren song of fame

I listen to my heart for things I can't explain

I burned out chasing the dream, all weary and depressed

I'd been running my whole life to find this place of rest

There's no one I'd rather be

Than a back porch celebrity

I'm not rich, I'm not famous

But I'm happy and I'm free

Oh I hit the big time

As a back porch celebrity

I found the comforts of home are nowhere near the bars

So I traded the stage lights for the full moon and the stars

All my loved ones gather round with lawnchairs in the yard

I'd like to think that is success

Didn't have to go too far

While the stage at the Grand Ole Opry

You'll never see me play

I hear my children sing a long

Yeah, they might just make it one day
