One More Day

If I woke up the next day and he was still alive

Woulda dropped to my knees thank God that he survived

Didn't have to spend one more day trapped inside that bed

I wouldn't have to live my life with things I never said

He could see all of us, just how far we've come

Maybe could have kept the family together as one

Could go catch a game, maybe play catch

Sit by the pool, kick back and relax

Now that I'm grown, I can appreciate his life

I should have listened little more to the stories he told at night

One of a few that I truly respect

Too many dam years I sit I reflect

On what I could do with just one more try

I broke down in tears when it came time to say goodbye

Cause this whole dam thing is a silly dream

I just wanted one more day, a day I'll never see
