Here in the belly of the beast

Or bow down beneath a flag

Cesar is not my Lord

I’ve only got one Lord

I can’t tell if we’re helping or we’re hurting

I can’t tell if we’re the problem or solution

I can’t tell if we’re the saviours or if we need saving

I can’t tell if we’re the healers or the broken

I can’t tell if we’re a system of oppression

I can’t tell if we’re the heroes or if we’re the villains

I don’t know what God you’re claimin’

We say the same things though

Apparently and variably it’s clear that something changed

I see us under the steeple, I don’t need people, it’s just people

But you must admit, we must consent that all idea’s ain’t equal

And if we fruit of the spirit then our soil must be toxic

We devour, seek your power, weaponize, utilize, brutalize, mutalize
