Rags to Riches Story

I didn’t know I was a beggar on a road that went nowhere

And that my very best was only filthy rags

But one day I met the Master and He pulled me from despair

And He fit me with the best robe that He had

He turned my rags to riches when I laid them at His feet

He turned my darkest hour to joy When He pulled me from defeat

His saving power lifted me to where I never dreamed I’d be

I never thought that it could happen to me

My life is a rags-to-riches story

Now I’ve got a home in Heaven And all the Father owns is mine

I’m an heir to all the riches I can hold

Still more precious is the presence of the one who died for me

Together thru the ages we’ll walk streets of gold
