Fuadi (My heart)

My heart is in two,

divided in two halves

for me, that division,

and for you too, is heartbreaking

I need to get to you

some day to heal

my heart a􀅌 er diaspora

and may the reunion give it happiness.

I have refused to evoke the ghosts

in the night to ask them

about my hope on the path

that leads me to you.

I long for our reunion so much

that even some􀆟 mes it seems I die like a bird

while a child plays.

When you are away, the full moon fades

and the stars fall.

And when you arrive, victory comes

and eases the heart.
