He came to me

No matter what you say I know He came to me

You can believe what you believe,

But I know he came to me

He spoke to me

Oh the things I heard the day he spoke to me

The sweetest voice I ever heard

When he spoke to me

I was so young I didn't know

What it was that I should do

With What I knew to be the truth.

I could have kept it all inside,

But I'd have may as well denied

What I knew

He knew

So they laughed at me

How it hurt to hear the people I love laugh at me

And I still hear my mother weep

When they laughed at me

They hunted me

I can't believe the way those people hunted me

They sent soldiers out to bring one who'd fall just like a sheep

They hunted me

And I'm reminded of a story

That I first heard long ago

About a carpenter who could never be

A prophet in his home

There are times I feel him pick me up

Off my knees and make me whole

And I know

He knows

Because they laughed at him

How it hurt to hear the people he loved laugh at him

And he still hears his mother weep

When they laugh at him
