I couldn’t stop you from believing

A genius you must be

I couldn’t halt your ignorancy

While moving at maximum speed

The moonlight that held us together

Breathed outward withered and died

Night follows day nothing gold can stay

The mob within sigh and say

You can’t force it

You must force it

You can’t force it no matter what we say

 

I savoured your ash for a lifetime

And shovelled your every demand

For someone to spar with to set the par with

I’d gladly take leave of command

If you want to escape from horror

Bury yourself therein

In waking in dreams and the bit in between

The mob within sigh and seethe

When every bit of season has run off and died

Died with a smirk on its face

And the price of eternal youth is

Sinking and quick

 

An insect will dress like a flower

Not for glory for shame

My lips are sealed

Together they’ll heal

The mob cry ever louder

You can’t force it

You must force it
