The barbecue going,

First flush of spring showing.

Grandpa in Hokas in the produce section,

What’s he getting?

I can’t believe what I was thinking,

The bored dad,

Who knows he can’t afford to be bored,

Is still bored,

At the park,

Getting stuff out of the car,

Wondering where his friends are.

The container shrinks,

Shrinks again,

And shrinks some more,

With every day,

The relief that comes from not wanting

more,

While picking blocks up off the floor,

The ridge rider rides away,

From the living bay window,
