I am dog, often mistaken for a wolf from afar

I never wanted to walk alone, but I can't keep lowering the bar

Animal instinct often mistaken for agency and choice

Too much static, too erratic, to quell that inner voice

Crawling on all fours

Clamouring to see in this dark sky sanctuary

Destination, driven by desire, never needs

I'll rather not kill or bite the hand that feeds

Lacking tact, losing track of reason or intent

Heart is racing, no invitations, lash out at the scent
