Faithless

I grew up inside a bubble

Where the people stayed the same

None of them went to the trouble

To try and make a change

Now I've moved onto the city

I like the feeling that I'm small

Realized that I'm not lonely

Without them there at all

Don't preach on compassion

Then blame me for asking

Why my friends are evil

For where they are sleeping

You'll keep trying to tell yourself you're honest when you're not

And I'll keep trying to sell myself a new version of god

I have entertained it, cause it hurt to be afraid but face it

If it's all or nothing, faith or failing

I'd rather be faithless

Thought I was doing what you wanted

Thought I was winning at the game

Could've had anything I sought out

If I'd only stayed the same
