The Rock I'm On

I’m not saying my faith is in danger

You don’t have to worry that I’m trying to quit

But i’ve had sadness, confusion and anger

Pushing me around more than I wanna admit

I don’t need to do any deconstruction

My faith’s already down to the studs

You see enough trouble and trauma, trust me, you’re gonna find out what your roof and your walls are made of

But the only way to know if your foundation’s gonna hold

Is when your house falls down

Look at me you might see a pile of wreckage

But I’m feeling right at home cause I have been rejected too

I honestly didn’t know if I was really secure

Til trial and tragedy showed up and said “are you sure?”

Even when I was too tired to hold onto faith

The stone took every hit that came at me and it did not break

I waited patiently for the Lord

I cried out in my hurting and He heard me

He set me on the hardest, highest, strongest rock that’s ever been

And it made me confident when I realized the Rock is Him

And He lifted me

Gave me a melody

And some words of victory

And I believe them even when
