the pessimist in me is always right

I stopped checking the forecast

I might as well just guess myself

They say hindsights 20 20

But even headlights wouldn't help

I'm so prone to crashing why even look both ways

If you saw things through my eyes I'd bet you'd change

Cuz every morning I leave a part of me in my bed frame

When even a task a simple as waking up is a headache

I wish I could leave it in gods hands

But look at where that lands me

Optimism is handy

But the pessimist in me is always right

I'm not usually the one to ask if it'll all be ok

But I think I ran outta gas and i'm not even halfway

There might be a parallel universe to ours

Where I found my own way

My life is a paradox cuz the only constant in it is change

I keep asking myself

Why

I get my hopes up

Hard to keep on trying

It always ends the same
