Time’s like an avalanche tumbling down in its dusty rhythm

Swallowing the edges in its silent snow

Sorting through the measured bits-nothing fits.

I tried to breathe to take it in

But even now the brakes are falling out

Was I aware back then of the everlasting wave?

Not like it’s make or break

But achingly the same day after day

I wanted eyes that made the rhythm stop

Stop pacing through my head

But now the body locks to mind

Like orders to a waltz

A step ahead a step behind

Dreams to crack the steps instead

And go

Time’s like an avalanche tumbling down in its dusty rhythm

Swallowing the edges in its silent snow
