The caterpillar knows

When to turn into a butterfly?

Cuz they change right before my eyes

And I don't want to stay behind

So how do I earn my wings?

What do I have to do?

Should I try to be myself?

Should I strive to be more like you?

Well I suppose

It's a guessing game

Cuz from a distance

All butterflies look the same

Do you suppose

What the color of his wings will be?

'Cuz any shade is fine with me

So I think we can agree

That it's time to earn my wings

What do I have to do?

And whether it's my destiny

To guard the ground forever

Watching everybody else but never

Feel the wind beneath my wings

And cutting all the strings that keep me from the sky
