Most of My Friends

Most of my friends are sober now, or they should be. I guess you’d say we’re settling down. Most of my friends have anxiety, or a malady, that just keeps on dragging them down. Most of my friends hate the internet, or the country, a few are losing touch with reality. My friends are older now.. oh shit me too.. Me and my friends are older now. After all these years, I’m still a total disaster. And all my fears are slowing me down, but the clock’s ticking faster.

Fuck it, I feel like I’ve lost it. Just close the blinds and tell the TV that “I’m still watching”. Is this my bed or a coffin? Can’t watch the news or scroll away the existential exhaustion. But then life hits quicker than a heart attack and you can’t go back, can’t go back. Keeps coming like a heart attack and you can’t go back. After all these years, I’m still a total disaster. Way back when we were degenerates, we’d stay out howling at the moon every night. So caught up in the thick of it, we never knew that we were living in the good old times.
