Shaking Off the Dust

I've been following my Jesus

Holding tightly to His hand.

We’ve walked some rocky roads together;

Crossed hot desert land.

My soul is tired and thirsty

From every trial and test;

He’s promised me these weary feet

Will one day stop and rest.

Stepping from this life

Into eternity;

Goodbye pain and strife

Glorified and free.

I’ll be shaking off the dust

From this old house of clay;

In a brand new body like my Lord;

With joy I’ll celebrate.

My burdens far behind

My fears left in the sand

Shaking off the dust in Glory Land.

My mind will not be clouded

With doubts and unbelief.

My heart will not be overwhelmed with

Worries, tears and grief.

My spirit will be lifted

To realms above this earth;

I’ll take these cares I’ve carried

Lay them all down in the dirt.
